Comparison to Conventional Fixtures
Conventional fixtures have machining restrictions.![]() Areas in red cannot be machined. |
Modular Pull Clamping System enables machining from 5 sides.![]() |
---|---|
Single Machining Step |
|
Additional machining step is required because of tool interference ![]() |
No tool interference and no need for additional machining step |
Better Machining Accuracy |
|
Poor machining accuracy by machinig in divided steps |
Better machining accuracy by single setup |
Shorter Fixture Preparation Time |
|
【Time to design fixture】 1st Step - 3hrs 【Time to assemble fixture】 1st Step - 3hrs 【Fixture components】 1st Step - 57 parts |
【Time to design fixture】 【Time to assemble fixture】 【Fixture components】 Note:can be used similarly for complicated workpieces |
Lower Fixture Cost |

![]() Cost for 2 steps 1st Step - JPY 678,000 Total JPY 1,441,000 |
![]() Cost for single step Total JPY 1,048,000 |
No Tool Interference |
|
![]() Complicated toolpaths are required to avoid interference. |
![]() Simple toolpaths without interference |
Application Example
Improvement of Existing Fixtures
Before
Multi-face machining with vises

Purpose
Single Setup
Pull clamping with screws
(Using riser blocks)

Purpose
Easy Clamping Operation
Pull clamping with screws
(Using a fixture plate)

Purpose
Eliminating interference with fixture plate
After

With Clamping Screws attached directly to the workpiece

With Clamping Screws attached to the fixture plate
Quick Fixture Change
Modular Pull Clamping System allows quick and precise fixture change.

Modular Fixture
Can be used as a universal fixture by standardizing the mounting pitch for Clamping Screws.

How To Use

Clamping Modules can be coupled with each types of Clamping Modules.
For details, see the Assembly Chart in "How To Use Modular Pull Clamping System".
How To Use Clamping Screws
Tapered Clamping Screws
For precise locating

Clamping Screws
For clamping

Positioning Order of Tapered Clamping Screws
Mount the Round-Type and Diamond-Type as in the figure, for locating workpieces.
Note: Tighten the Round-Type first, and then Diamond-Type, and Clamping Screws last of all.

Locating Mechanism
Dual surface contact at the tapered surfaces and contact surfaces enables 5μm locating repeatability.
